Swansea is one of the second largest city in Wales and the regional commercial centre for South West Wales so is perfectly placed for a Willbox depot to serve South Wales. Officially known as the City and County of Swansea, the area includes Swansea Bay and the Gower Peninsula.

Today Swansea is probably most famous for the popular holiday spot (to the West): the Gower Peninsular. It was the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956. The city is also known for being the birth place of Dylan Thomas, Sir Harry Secombe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Heseltine and Russell T Davis. From the early 1700s to the late 1800s, Swansea was the world’s leading copper-smelting area, due it’s proximity to the coalfields of South Wales and excellent port. The population exploded, at one point overtaking that of Cardiff, until the 20th century when mining activity went into steep decline. The city has an approximate population of 300,000, and is a key location for both Willbox, and our parent company Williams Shipping.

Our Swansea depot is located to the north of the city and provides us with a perfect location to deliver our containers to the rest of Wales. We have a large storage yard from where we can carry out maintenance on the units, as well as store our stock shipping containers for sale. All of our containers are delivered using a Hiab crane vehicle, which is able to offload the container safely, and our drivers are all trained to the highest level.
