A CSC (International Convention for Safe Containers) plate is required on all ISO containers that are being used for intermodal transport. The CSC plate acts as a container's certificate of safety, and allows container depots, and international ports the assurance that a container is safe to be handled and transported whilst fully loaded.
Each container must pass the technical requirements of the 'International Convention for Safe Containers' in order to be awarded a plate. This is generally done on completion from the factory, whereby the new ISO shipping container is given a CSC plate valid for 5 years.
After that 5 year period each container must be individually assessed and the valid timescale of each CSC plate will depend entirely on the structural integrity of each container.
Each CSC plate contains the following information:
Willbox have representatives who are able to apply new CSC plates to all shipping containers. This is common depot service, which is required to be carried out on behalf of the shipping lines, as their containers frequently come out of plate during their working life. Willbox are also able to offer a full container inspection and survey under IICL6.
If you require your container to be CSC plated, or have a IICL6 Survey, please contact a member of the team with the options on the right.
